Graduate Research and Aptitude Test (GRAT) is an online exam that will assess an individual’s potential in a particular discipline. The test can be considered as a standardised PhD admission test globally. The disciplines include : Aerospace Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Archaeology, Bengali, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Commerce, Computational Sciences, Earth and Geosciences, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Economics, Education, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Information Technology, English, Geography, History, Hindi, Law, Library Sciences, Material Sciences and Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Quantitative Biology, Sociology, Statistics.
Structure of GRAT Examination : Part One : Written Online Test*
Part Two : Interview (Online / Offline)
Offline Tests may be organised in certain scenarios such as places where Internet Facility is not available or Test centre is Not available to arrange online exam or such equivalent reasons.
Syllabus of GRAT: There will be no detailed syllabus. Concepts which are necessary to pursue PhD will be included to the syllabus. The topics range from high school to master’s level. An outline of the topics will be available soon for each subject.
GRAT exam will be conducted in India only for the session 2024 -2025. The application process is divided into two steps i) Pre-registration and ii) Registration
The total exam fee will be 30.00 Euros (Approx INR 2700/-), which is divided into two parts i) Pre-registration (Approx INR 900.00 / 10.00 Euros) ii) Registration (Approx INR: 1800.00 / 20.00 Euros). This fees can be refunded if any issue occurs from the organisation’s side. More details about the refund policies considering applicant’s side will be published shortly. It is advisable to use the applicants own account or the any account that the individual has access to make the refund smoother.
Unfortunately, Pre-registration without the payment of fees will not be considered.

To be precise, the steps of pre-registration will be
Submission of the Online form —> Notification in the candidates’s registered e-mail address —> Pay the GRAT Pre-registration Fee ( only online ).
For multiple applications i.e. if one candidate want to appear for more than one subject, the individual should submit another new application.
NOTE :
The payment might show in Euro instead INR. If you are paying by Debit Card, make sure from your bank that your card has the permission to execute international currencies.
